Oscar Olsen is a lead scientist at a government run facility called the Ministry of Joy. He's based off the rollercoaster Oblivion at UK themepark Alton Towers. He is a genius, and probably would have done better in life had he become a skilled detective instead of a researcher on the wrong side of science.
Oscar is an ambitious, highly introverted, organised, logic oriented man.
On the outside, he appears cold, selfish, and unfeeling. However, on the inside, he has a soft spot for sensitive people, and does his best to follow his intuition, even when faced with danger.
Like everyone, Oscar also has his flaws.
Due to being adopted and raised by a family with more concern for status than love, Oscar can be selfish, dismissive of affection or compliments, self sabotaging, and has a privileged, narrow-minded view of the world.
Once a skilled, ADHD riddled engineer for the Ministry of Joy, turned killing machine after an incident, Sammy now seeks to destroy the Ministry and everyone connected. He's based off the rollercoaster The Smiler at the UK themepark Alton Towers.
When his close friend Oscar brought him back to life after the incident against his will using Joy, a drug made by the Ministry, he was never the same. The Ministry did experiments on him, testing how the Joy reacted to his body, and eventually he snapped.
He experienced a mental break and instead of making him compliant like the Joy was supposed to, it made him inhumanly strong and he broke out of confinement. Now, he resides in the shadows of his own hideout, scheming to get revenge.
He has a very toxic situationship with Oscar and likes to mess with him, or start raids as an excuse to see him. Gay as hell. His weapon of choice is his hypnotism goggles to convince his victims to take care of themselves, because he doesn't like getting his hands dirty.
The Ministry of Joy is a fictional organisation that acts as the primary source of backstory and lore for the X Sector area of Alton Towers. Originally created as the force behind the theming of The Smiler, the Ministry has featured in numerous pieces of media including a web series explaining the origin of The Smiler as well as The Sanctuary scaremaze.
The Ministry of Joy is an organisation who aims to ease away the aches and pains of everyday life for the population by way of social compliance treatments. Their history is mostly unknown, though their treatment of advocates at The Sanctuary suggests they have been in operation for more than fifty years.
One of the ways it does this is by creating and using a sedative called Joy, which lulls the subject into a state of hypnosis for easy testing

Midpoint shift(s):
Oscar moves up the career ladder within the minstry and betrays Sammy's trust when he starts enabling and taking part in unethical experimentations (mainly the creation of the drug called Joy, a serum allowing subjects to be hypnotised into being content and agreeable about what's happening to them)
Soon after, when Sammy dies in a portal explosion, Oscar, in a frantic state, brings him back to life using Joy. It works, but his friend is essentially zombified, and the ministry turn him into a subject to be studied.
The effects of this much Joy in his system cause Sammy to have a mental break and become violent, eventually breaking out of the facility
Endgame:
Oscar and Sammy become rivals, with Oscar battling with the fact he needs to destroy this monster he brought into the world, and Sammy making it his mission to destroy the ministry and kill everyone connected to it, saving Oscar for last
